I love you, 2014

I love you is the declaration of love that Roberta Filippelli dedicates to Enel: Three female figures, three Guardianas, or perhaps three priestesses, carry in themselves the energy of fire, wind and light. The artist incorporates the iconographic codes of the sacred, restored in the hieraticity of the poses and gestures, and with the playful attitude characteristic of his poetic, it touches on the pop aesthetics of the objects-attributes that characterize every single portrait. So there are three icons contemporaneee, solemn and ironic, suspended between magic and ritual, a little ' holy, a little ' witches.
A modern Fiammetta, the novice who in Boccaccio's Decameron tells the loves that went to a happy ending, keeps alive the flame of a common lighter to show the fire that heats the body and ignites the passion. An updated Virgin entrusts her feelings to the wind of a small fan and makes it appear mushy phrases in the slang typical of juvenile messages. A bright red ribbon with polka dots, instead, transforms the traditional halo of the saints into a frivolous accessory, a reminder of Minnie's Disney character and fashionable Pin-Up today.
The work invades the company structure and repeats itself in space confirming and reaffirming its presence: an exhibition strategy of "viral diffusion" that converts the usual function of the place and remeans the time and the gaze of those who pass through it.

I love you è la dichiarazione d’amore che Roberta Filippelli dedica all’Enel: tre figure femminili, tre guardiane, o forse tre sacerdotesse, portano in sé l’energia del Fuoco, del Vento e della Luce. L’artista riprende i codici iconografici del sacro, restituiti nella ieraticità delle pose e dei gesti, e con l’attitudine giocosa caratteristica della sua poetica vi accosta l’estetica pop degli oggetti-attributi che connotano ogni singolo ritratto. Si delineano così tre icone contemporaneee, solenni e ironiche,sospese tra magia e rito, un po’ sante, un po’ streghe.

Una moderna Fiammetta, la novellatrice che nel Decamerone di Boccaccio racconta gli amori andati a lieto fine, tiene viva la fiamma di un comune accendino per mostrare il fuoco che riscalda il corpo e accende la passione. Una Vergine aggiornata affida i propri sentimenti al vento di un piccolo ventilatore e fa apparire frasi sdolcinate nello slang tipico dei messaggi giovanili. Un fiocco rosso luminoso a pois, invece, trasforma la tradizionale aureola delle sante in un accessorio frivolo, un richiamo al personaggio disneyano di Minnie e alla moda oggi ritornata in voga delle Pin-Up.

L’opera invade la struttura aziendale e si ripete nello spazio confermando e riaffermando la propria presenza: una strategia espositiva di “diffusione virale” che converte la funzione usuale del luogo e risignifica il tempo e lo sguardo di chi vi passa attraverso.
